Severs Disease Sydney

What is Severs Disease?

Sever’s Disease is an extremely common growth plate condition that affects adolescent boys and girls between the ages of 8 to 12. It isn’t actually a disease, but a growth disorder where the attachment of the Achilles pulls on the growth plate and the back of the heel bone.

The condition can cause significant pain in a growing person and make it difficult for adolescents suffering from it to remain active. However, you can get excellent results with a combination of lifts, foot mobilisation and stretching that allows the patient to avoid significant discomfort and remain active.
